15 years ago with Costa Rican biologics and conservationists, we established Bosque Para Siempre, the Forever Forest, a migratory rain forest corridor critical to the survival of native birds and neotropical migrants from Vermont. The endangered three-wattled bellbird represents the unique nature of this biologically diverse habitat, where without immediate preservation efforts, many species, including songbirds from Vermont, are threatened with extinction. We are working to preserve this refuge for migrating and resident species in perpetuity and reforest destroyed acres. During our census work, we observed two wood thrushes and a rose-breasted grosbeak in our first reforested parcel. In the trees planted during our early projects years we watched bellbirds eat fruit and train their young! We work with multi-generation families, reforesting their land to protect springs and biodiversity. TO date, we have purchased 73.5 acres of land and planted over 16,125 trees. Over 200,000 tress have been distributed from our Monteverde nursery.
